Seth Laxman Swaroop Kishinchand Asrani:
Son of Seth Rai Bahadur Kishinchand Asrani and Veera Bai Asrani Seth Laxman Swaroop was born in Rawalpindi. Three generations spent their lives in Quetta, Baluchistan. He had two siblings, a sister, Manna Asrani, and a brother, Thakurlal Kishinchand Asrani. He went to college in Quetta studying agriculture and was given a posting of Tahsildar. At that time he became a freedom fighter and disappeared from home. He was missing for a few months, his father and family were very anxious.
His father, because of his position, was able to get the photographs of all the youth freedom fighters who were imprisoned. His father recognized the eyes of a youth as his son, in a long beard whose face he could not see. Laxman Swaroop was imprisoned in Arthur road jail in Bombay. Rai Bahadur Kishinchand flew to Bombay and brought an unwilling young Laxman Swaroop home, who believed his motherland needed him. Rai Bhadur Kishinchand pleaded with his son that his mother was crying for him and laid his turban at the feet of his son and convinced Laxman Swaroop to go home.
Laxman Swaroop was under house arrest for a year. Meanwhile his father thought the best way to keep him captive at home is to get him married and got a match with Tulsa Menda, daughter of Madhavdas Menda whose name was changed to Lilavati Asrani.
Laxman Swaroop had a house in Shikarpur at Risha Jo Qubo and would visit twice a year, a housekeeper would look after the house. All three generations were great horseman. They all spoke Punjabi and started speaking in Sindhi once Lilavati got married to Laxman Swaroop.
